What Stat.vin Actually Is
Most people who search for Stat.vin are looking at auction history: a car's past sales at Copart or IAAI, with photos. That is one part of what the site does. The larger part is a buying service: Stat.vin lets people without a dealer license bid on Copart and IAAI lots, then arranges delivery, shipping and customs. The site's footer names the business as 1VIN STAT.

Refundable, with a condition
The deposit can be refunded on request, but only when there are no active bids or unfinished transactions. It can also be used to pay the service fee.

Stat.vin sells its report in packs, not singly on the page we read: 3 for $18.63, 10 for $58.65, 20 for $110.40, 50 for $258.75. Per report that runs from $6.21 down to $5.18.
Stat.vin says the report includes auction photos, the car's sales history with auction dates and mileage at bidding, recorded damage, and ownership details such as the number of owners and years owned. It is built for people comparing many auction cars, which is why it is priced by volume.

What Stat.vin Does Not Cover
The auction catalog is limited to passenger cars. Stat.vin's FAQ says trucks, buses and specialized equipment are not displayed, so a pickup, a work van or a trailer will need another route.
Its world is Copart and IAAI. A car that never went through those auctions will have little for an auction-history product to show, which is not the same as a car with no history. For that car, the useful records are the title brands and insurance total-loss records that states and insurers report.
