What a Nissan Window Sticker Tells You
On a used Nissan the sticker answers the trim question cleanly: two trims of the same model can look alike in photos, and the sticker lists the trim, each package and its price. It also names the delivering dealer, a useful cross-check against service records.
Nissan's 2026 range in EPA's file is mostly gasoline, from the Armada at 16–18 MPG to the Sentra at 32–33 MPG, with two electric models, the LEAF and the ARIYA.
What a Nissan sticker won't show
- Accidents or damage: anything after the car left the factory.
- Later owners: the label stops at the first dealer.
- Title brands: salvage, flood or rebuilt records.
- Dealer add-ons: options fitted after delivery to the dealer.
2026 Nissan EPA Ratings by Model

Two paid routes exist. MonroneyLabels.com has had VIN-specific Nissan data since the 2001 model year ($9.99). VIN Analytics also lists Nissan ($9.99) and tells you whether you are getting the factory original or a replica. Imports built for other markets generally come back empty.

What Federal Law Puts on the Sticker
The rules are short. Section 1232 of title 15 tells carmakers what to print on a new Nissan: make, model and VIN; where it was finally assembled; which dealer it went to and in what city; the MSRP, each option and its price, the transport charge and the total; and NHTSA's star ratings if assigned. Section 1233 sets fines of up to $1,000 per car for leaving the label off, and up to a year in jail for anyone who strips or alters it before the buyer takes the car.

NHTSA lists Nissan prefixes in four countries: JN1 and JN8 in Japan, 1N4, 1N6 and 5N1 in the United States, 3N1, 3N6 and 3N8 in Mexico, and SJK in the United Kingdom. A US-market Nissan can carry any of the first three.
The prefix says which manufacturer entry built the car; the window sticker's final assembly point names the plant. If a seller describes a car as Japanese-built, the sticker settles it.

Where These Facts Come From
The label rules come from the US Code, the ratings from EPA, the VIN prefixes from NHTSA, and the sellers' coverage from their own pages.
Read on 23 October 2026. EPA adds versions to a model year as they are rated, and sellers change coverage, so check both before relying on a figure. CarCheckerVIN is not affiliated with Nissan, MonroneyLabels.com or VIN Analytics.
