What VINsmart Sells
VINsmart sells vehicle history reports built on NMVTIS, the federal title system, and says it is an approved data provider. Its report pitch centres on prior damage and salvage checks, flood and junk records, odometer readings and what it calls a 68-point check on brand concerns such as altered odometers, vandalism and fire damage.
You can buy as a guest with a VIN and a card, with an account recommended only for multiple reports. VINsmart also notes a daily NMVTIS maintenance window between 1 and 2 AM Eastern, when reports may be delayed.
