Quick Answer
- What is VIN-Info?
- A vehicle history service at vin-info.com that helps you compare a seller's claims with recorded data. Depending on the VIN, a report may show previous owners, accidents or damage and auction listings.
- Is VIN-Info free?
- The check is. It shows which report sections are available for that VIN, with a tick for data that will be filled in; you pay only if you then want the full report.
- Which countries does VIN-Info cover?
- Its country-of-registration list names United Kingdom, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain.

How VIN-Info Works
VIN-Info's model is transparent about scope. Checking a VIN starts free: it lists the report sections for that VIN and ticks the ones that will contain data. Sections that stay empty in the free check stay empty in the paid report, so you know what you're buying.
The paid report is available online right after payment. VIN-Info also publishes a sample report, so you can see the layout before running anything.
Good practice to copy
- Scope before payment. The free check shows what exists.
- No surprises. Empty in the check means empty in the report.
- A public sample. See the format first.
Free Check vs Paid Report
The free check answers one question: is there anything on file? The paid report answers the next: what exactly is it? For a car that has crossed borders in Europe, that can include registrations, damage and auction listings in several countries.
For a car titled in the US, the records that decide a purchase are state title brands, insurance total losses and US auction history. Our free preview works the same way: it shows what's on file before you pay.
