CarCheckerVIN is operated by CognifyX Solutions LLC. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The vehicle data we display comes from public and licensed sources such as NMVTIS, manufacturer databases, and NHTSA — it is vehicle-specification and history data, not a directory of your personal information.
Because the CCPA/CPRA defines “sale” and “sharing” broadly, some routine analytics or cookie activity could be interpreted as a “sale” or “share” under those laws. Out of an abundance of caution, we give every visitor a clear way to opt out and to exercise the rights described below — regardless of the state you live in.

We confirm most requests within 15 business days and complete verified requests within 45 days, as required by law. We may extend this period once when reasonably necessary and will let you know if we do.

What is Global Privacy Control (GPC)?

Global Privacy Control is a browser or extension setting that sends a signal telling every website you visit that you want to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. When we detect a valid GPC signal, we apply the opt-out to that browser automatically, without you needing to fill out a form.
How long does it take to process my request?

We confirm receipt of most requests within 15 business days and complete verified requests within 45 days, as required by law. If we need more time, we may extend the period once when reasonably necessary and will notify you of the extension and the reason for it.
Do I need an account to submit a request?

No. You do not need an account. Provide the name and email you would like us to use, and we will match those details against the limited information we hold to verify and act on your request. We only use verification information for that purpose.
Can someone submit a request on my behalf?

Yes. An authorized agent may submit a request for you. Check the authorized-agent box on the form, and be prepared to provide written proof that you gave the agent permission. We may also ask you to verify your own identity directly with us before we act on the request.
Will opting out delete my information or change how the site works?

Opting out of sale or sharing is separate from deletion — if you also want your data deleted, choose the “Delete my personal information” option. Opting out will not deny you service, change your price, or lower the quality of the site. You can continue to run VIN checks and use every tool exactly as before.
Which state privacy laws does this page cover?
