These Terms govern your use of CarCheckerVIN (carcheckervin.com), operated by CognifyX Solutions LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company with its registered office at 1209 Mountain Road Place Northeast, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA (“CognifyX Solutions LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using CarCheckerVIN, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service Description

CarCheckerVIN provides vehicle identification number (VIN) decoding and vehicle history report services. Reports include vehicle specifications, equipment details, and related data sourced from third-party databases.

3. Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy, vehicle data is sourced from third-party providers and we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Reports should be used as one factor in your vehicle purchase decision, alongside a physical inspection and test drive.

4. Permitted Use

You may use CarCheckerVIN for personal, non-commercial vehicle research purposes. Automated scraping, bulk downloads, or redistribution of report data is prohibited.

5. Limitation of Liability

CarCheckerVIN is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of our reports or reliance on the information provided.

6. Mobile App and In-App Purchases

The CarCheckerVIN app for iOS is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control. Reports bought inside the app are in-app purchases processed by Apple. Report credits bought as a bundle do not expire in the app and can be used on any VIN. Because a report is a digital good delivered immediately, purchases are final; if we cannot generate a report for your VIN, we refund it. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, while purchases made on carcheckervin.com are handled by us directly. Recall information in the app is provided free of charge and is never placed behind a purchase.

7. Apple App Store Terms

These Terms are between you and CognifyX Solutions LLC only, and not with Apple; we alone are responsible for the CarCheckerVIN app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, any failure to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar law, and we are solely responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against you.

8. Refunds

Refunds are issued only when the data in a report does not match the vehicle identified by the VIN you submitted. See the full Refund Policy for eligibility criteria, evidence requirements, and the request process.
