Tesla Window Sticker by VIN — No Paid Service Lists It. Here's What's Left.

A Tesla's window sticker is the same federal Monroney label every new car carries: MSRP, options and their prices, final assembly point, and an EPA label in MPGe with the rated range. Unlike most brands, Tesla is on neither MonroneyLabels.com's covered list nor VIN Analytics' brand list, so the routes are the seller's paperwork or a free replica. The rest of this page covers those routes, 2026 EPA ratings for every Tesla and its four VIN prefixes.

Quick Answer

How do I get a Tesla window sticker by VIN?
Neither MonroneyLabels.com nor VIN Analytics lists Tesla for VIN-specific stickers. Ask the seller for the original or the purchase paperwork, or build a free replica with our sticker maker, which fills in what NHTSA's decoder returns.
What does a Tesla window sticker show?
What 15 U.S.C. § 1232 requires: identification and VIN, assembly point, receiving dealer, MSRP and option prices, the transport charge and total, crash ratings, plus EPA's fuel economy figures.
What range does a 2026 Tesla get?
EPA's 2026 file gives the Model S the longest rated range, up to 410 miles. The Model 3 reaches 363 miles and 111–139 MPGe, the Model Y 357 miles, and the Cybertruck 335.

What a Tesla Window Sticker Tells You

On a used Tesla the window sticker answers what photos can't: which version the car is, which options it was ordered with, and its EPA-rated range when new.

Every Tesla in EPA's 2026 file is electric, so the label's fuel economy box is in MPGe, with the rated range beside it: 111–139 MPGe for the Model 3, 105–138 MPGe for the Model Y.

What the Tesla label can't tell you

  • Damage: it was printed before the car was sold.
  • Who owned it: no owners appear on it.
  • Title problems: salvage or flood brands are filed by VIN.
  • Mileage: it carries no odometer reading.

Where to Get a Tesla Window Sticker Now

Tesla is not on MonroneyLabels.com's list of brands with VIN-specific data; for unlisted brands it builds a non-VIN-specific sticker for cars made after 1981, completed by inspecting the car. VIN Analytics' brand list does not include Tesla either. Neither can produce a US sticker for a car that was never sold new in the US.

For a listing, a replica built from the Tesla's paperwork is usually enough, and ours costs nothing.

Tesla VIN Prefixes (WMI)

NHTSA's register gives Tesla these 4 World Manufacturer Identifiers, the first three characters of the VIN.

What Federal Law Puts on the Sticker

The rules are short. Section 1232 of title 15 tells carmakers what to print on a new Tesla: make, model and VIN; where it was finally assembled; which dealer it went to and in what city; the MSRP, each option and its price, the transport charge and the total; and NHTSA's star ratings if assigned. Section 1233 sets fines of up to $1,000 per car for leaving the label off, and up to a year in jail for anyone who strips or alters it before the buyer takes the car.

Why Sticker Services Don't Cover Tesla

Neither paid service we reviewed lists Tesla. MonroneyLabels.com's covered-brands table stops at 43 brands without it, and for unlisted brands it builds a non-VIN-specific sticker for cars made after 1981, filled in by inspecting the car. VIN Analytics' brand list doesn't include Tesla either.

So for a Tesla the useful documents are the ones the first owner kept: the purchase agreement and delivery paperwork usually list the price and options. Ask for them; if they are gone, a replica from the VIN plus what the seller can show you is the honest fallback.

Original Tesla Sticker vs a Free Replica

The paid sticker brings the factory's figures; the free one brings yours.

Where These Facts Come From

The label rules come from the US Code, the ratings from EPA, the VIN prefixes from NHTSA, and the sellers' coverage from their own pages.

Read on 23 October 2026. EPA adds versions to a model year as they are rated, and sellers change coverage, so check both before relying on a figure. CarCheckerVIN is not affiliated with Tesla, MonroneyLabels.com or VIN Analytics.
