Why one VIN app is 165 times bigger than another
This is the number that surprises people. These apps all describe themselves as vehicle-history tools, and they span from 2.2 MB to 362.3 MB. The explanation is that they are not really doing the same job.
If you are standing next to a car on mobile data with a seller waiting, the difference between 2.2 MB and 362 MB is the difference between checking the car now and checking it later. If you are at home on wi-fi, it does not matter at all.

A VIN is seventeen characters and 0 and O, 1 and I are near-identical in stamped fonts, so a scan removes the step where mistakes happen.
