What a Dodge Window Sticker Tells You
On a Dodge, the sticker sorts out the trim and packages a listing photo can't, and names the dealer the car was first delivered to. For a Durango or Charger with option packages, it is the cleanest record of what was paid for.
The 2026 range in EPA's file is small: 2 models in 3 rows, from the Durango at 13–20 MPG to the electric Charger at 72–95 MPGe.
What the Dodge label can't tell you
- Damage: it was printed before the car was sold.
- Who owned it: no owners appear on it.
- Title problems: salvage or flood brands are filed by VIN.
- Mileage: it carries no odometer reading.

Dodge VIN Prefixes (WMI)
NHTSA files Dodge under a parent company's manufacturer entries, so its prefixes are found by decoding each one. These 3 decode to Dodge, alone or alongside sister brands.
| WMI | Makes NHTSA lists | Manufacturer | Vehicle type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1C3 | Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, Lancia | FCA US LLC | Passenger car |
| 2C3 | Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, Lancia | FCA Canada Inc. | Passenger car |
| 1C4 | Dodge, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Jeep, Fiat, Ram, Lancia | FCA US LLC | MPV (SUV, crossover) |
From NHTSA vPIC's DecodeWMI, read 23 October 2026. Where several makes share a prefix, the later VIN characters decide which.
What Federal Law Puts on the Sticker
A window sticker is a legal document before it is a sales sheet. Since 1958, 15 U.S.C. § 1232 has required one on every new car: identification and VIN, assembly point, dealer and delivery city, the MSRP, option prices, the transport charge and total, and NHTSA's safety stars. Under § 1233, removing or changing it before delivery can bring a $1,000 fine and up to a year in jail per vehicle. Once the Dodge is delivered, keeping the label is up to the owner.

NHTSA's decoder lists Dodge under prefixes it shares with Chrysler and other brands: 1C3 and 2C3 for passenger cars, under FCA US LLC and FCA Canada Inc., and 1C4 for SUVs and crossovers.
So the first three characters can't tell a Dodge from a Chrysler. The rest of the VIN can, and so can the window sticker, which names the make, the model and the final assembly point.

Where These Facts Come From
The label rules come from the US Code, the ratings from EPA, the VIN prefixes from NHTSA, and the sellers' coverage from their own pages.
Read on 23 October 2026. EPA adds versions to a model year as they are rated, and sellers change coverage, so check both before relying on a figure. CarCheckerVIN is not affiliated with Dodge, MonroneyLabels.com or VIN Analytics.
