VIN Analytics Review — Original Sticker, or a Replica?
VIN Analytics sells window stickers, build sheets, advanced VIN decoding reports and history reports for 48 brands, from Porsche and Mercedes-Benz to Subaru and Kia. Its FAQ says it supplies the factory original sticker when it can, and a replica built from the VIN when it can't. What follows: each product's price, what you receive, and what to check before paying.

Quick Answer
- How much does VIN Analytics cost?
- Its home page prices window stickers at $9.99, advanced VIN decoding reports at $9.99 to $12.99, and history reports at $9.99. Porsche build sheets are free for some US and Canadian cars from model year 2021 and older.
- Is a VIN Analytics window sticker the original?
- Sometimes. Its FAQ says: "When available, we provide the factory original Monroney label (window sticker) exactly as it was produced by the manufacturer for your specific VIN." Otherwise it says it provides "a replica of this original factory sticker for many vehicles based on their VIN."
- Which brands does VIN Analytics cover?
- It lists 48, including Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford, the GM brands, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Subaru and Volvo. Tesla, Honda and Acura are not on the list.
Four questions to ask before you pay for a build document
Window stickers and build sheets answer different questions. Pick the one that answers yours.
- 1Do you need the price?Only the window sticker carries the MSRP and each option's price.
- 2Or the full equipment list?A build sheet or decoding report lists installed options and codes.
- 3Original or replica?Ask which one the seller will deliver for your VIN, and whether it says.
- 4Built for which market?A car built for another country may have no US sticker at all.
What VIN Analytics Sells
VIN Analytics, run by VIN Analytics, LLC, sells four things by VIN: window stickers, build sheets, what it calls advanced VIN decoding reports, and vehicle history reports. Its home page describes the decoding report as "the most complete list of installed options and vehicle details available including serial numbers, production dates, colors & more".
A notice on its home page says the site is independently operated and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any carmaker. Its FAQ says it sources its data "directly from vehicle manufacturers and their official data partners", and still recommends confirming details with the carmaker's customer service.
Before you buy from VIN Analytics
- Original or replica: its FAQ says it depends on the VIN.
- History data: the source isn't named on its home page.
- Not on its list: Tesla, Honda and Acura.
- Porsche prices: the priced sticker is paid even where the build sheet is free.

Original Sticker or Replica
VIN Analytics' FAQ describes two outcomes. When the carmaker's original Monroney label is available for your VIN, it says it provides that label "exactly as it was produced by the manufacturer". When it isn't, it provides a replica of the original sticker built from the VIN, "for many vehicles".
Both are useful, but they are not the same document. A replica is rebuilt from data; the original is the label the factory printed. If the distinction matters, for a collector car or a dispute over options, ask which one you will receive for your VIN before you pay.

Its Free Porsche Build Sheets
Its FAQ says Porsche build sheets "are freely available for some U.S. and Canadian vehicles from Model Year 2021 and older", and that the PDF window sticker with MSRP and options pricing is paid. A Porsche build sheet lists the option codes the car was built with, which is often what an enthusiast wants to check first.
For other brands the build sheet and the decoding report are paid. Our guide to Porsche window stickers covers the other routes, and the 2026 EPA ratings by model.
Is the VIN Analytics History Report an NMVTIS Report?
Its home page describes the history report as checking "title & salvage records, fraud and more", without naming the data source. VIN Analytics does not appear on the Justice Department's list of the 12 companies approved to sell NMVTIS reports to consumers.
Title brands come from state records, and the federal NMVTIS database collects them, so whichever report you buy, check that it states where its title data comes from.

VIN Analytics — Frequently Asked Questions
Prices, originals, replicas and coverage.
Is VIN Analytics legit?+
It is a working service run by VIN Analytics, LLC that publishes its prices, its brand list and its FAQ, and says plainly that it is not affiliated with any carmaker. Its FAQ is also clear that some stickers are replicas rather than originals.
Are VIN Analytics Porsche build sheets free?+
For some US and Canadian Porsches from model year 2021 and older, its FAQ says yes. The window sticker PDF with MSRP and option prices is paid.
Does VIN Analytics have Tesla window stickers?+
Tesla is not on the brand list on its home page.
What's the difference between its window sticker and decoding report?+
The sticker carries the price of the car and its factory options. The decoding report, by its description, lists installed options, serial numbers, production dates and colours.
Can I get a window sticker for a car built outside the US?+
A US window sticker exists only for cars built for the US market. For an import, a build sheet or decoding report may still list the equipment.
Is a window sticker a history report?+
No. It shows how the car was built and priced new. A history report shows what came after: title brands, NMVTIS junk and salvage records, insurance total-loss records, odometer readings, and auction records with the damage the auction recorded and its photos. Ours is $14.99, with a free preview.
